Asking for Love (2009) 30 x 50. digital media.
This piece concerns itself with the constraints of human language and desire. While working in an office as a publishing intern, I was allocated the task of reviewing several dating websites. I became fascinated with the online dating subculture. There were more websites than I’d ever imagined - many of them boasting racial or cultural themes. But each of these sites communicated the same message: someone, somewhere, was asking for a loving and/or sexual experience. These ordinary people beg for interaction, sometimes through broken or selective English. The profiles that I am featuring have been gathered off of various ‘specialty‘ dating sites, and selected for their unusual methods of communication.

I love this. I'm so happy you showed this last night!
